The Universal Design Sprint (UDS) invites students to a weekend-long competition to develop an innovative solution that can help make the world a more inclusive and accessible place for everyone, with a particular focus on increasing accessibility in Technology, for people with disabilities, and better design for 🌍everyone 🌍 .
 
Not studying computer science? 💻 No worries!
 
UDS is designed for people from diverse backgrounds and specialisations to work collaboratively, regardless of what you’re studying, whether it’s computer science, engineering, design, architecture, or something else entirely. ✨
 
You’ll work in a group of 3-4 people to create your product, with support from the UMSU Disabilities Department and student clubs including MBSI, MUEEC, DES, WIT, HackMelbourne, MESS and CISSA.

The event will run from 5-7:30pm on Friday 11th March, and is FULLY CATERED. Tickets are limited due to Unimelb COVID capacity limits (yes, we still have limits) so make sure to join quick!

WIT Hackathon

Whether you’re a beginner or a master hacker, the WIT Hackathon is a chance for you to show off your finesse in programming, soft skills and other fields. It will be held online for 48 hours from Friday 24th September until Sunday 26th September, with the following prizes up for grabs for the winning teams:
🏅 1st place: $500 + a Google Mini per member
🥈 2nd place: $300
🥉 3rd place: $200
 
You’ll get the chance to meet other students, working in teams of 3-5 either formed by yourself or by us. There will also be workshops to power you through the weekend, with mentors from our sponsors at Google and Atlassian. Both current WIT members and other UniMelb students can participate in this experience.
